Got a new drummer coming in Sept 8. Matt decided to move on.
I got a lesson with our lead alto player Kevin Sheehan. You gotta love it when you hear results after a 1.5 hour lesson. My sound got better, my sub tone became a sub tone, my tuning got better, and my playing got better on the sax, flute and clarinet. Being in this band is better than going to school. Kevin teaches me more in an hour than I could learn in a month going to school. Nothing like the real thing.

Hey man, good stuff and glad you are having a great time with it. This will give you lots to use when you get back to school. Pull an Evanson on them...walk the halls and when you catch 'em, get 'em in the practice room working on all of this stuff. He used to make them get their horns out and play duets with him. To many musicians learn their parts and think that makes everything great but have very little idea what it is to play in tune with the section/ensemble and even with themselves, articulate, play dynamics as a section/ensemble and dont' forget phrasing etc. Enuf of my rant...have fun and pick his brain till he crys like a baby! Hah!!! Take care and best of luck with your new drummer.
