To night I played my first clarinet solo with the band. It was not great but it did not suck>LOL
I was scared to death. In the GMO band you always walk out front to do solos so the stress level is higher. We had only 1500 people at the concert tonight.
The concert was really pretty good. The sax section had a great run tonight.
Our fine drummer Jeff will be moving on to a world tour with a an international cruise line. So we have an opening. CE ASKEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to call the clarinet the black stick of death. It isn't an easy instrument for some sax players to get a good, professional sound out of. Good on ya! When you get back to the sax students kick their collective butts every time they talk about wanting to play professionally but aren't spending any time on their doubles. Most gigs out there are demanding doubles unless your just playing rock and roll. Anyway, have a great time.
