Great concert in Springville New York tonight. It as at the high school fine arts center. very nice concert venue. The high schools two jazz bands performed before we did. They were very good and very excited about us being there. Larry, our leader gave a Great talk about the importance of music education. It was very inspiring.
Our new drummer Jeff from West Virgina played well for his first run. nI got a new room mate today. My old room mate is now with the new drummer and I am with the lead tenor Scotty from Wisconson. Great soloist, I will learn lots rooming with him.
We travel tomorrow back to Ohio. We will stay in the same motel for 3 wonderful days.
See you guys soon.. Katheryine, Flat Stanley is having a great time. He is taking trombone lessons in hopes of playing on a concert before Christmas.

ReplyDeleteHey I miss you too!!!!!!!!!!!!! When is a good time to call you? Tell my son in law I miss him too.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that it is going great! That no rehearsal think is kind of odd. I don't think that I could do it. But I'm not that good of a trombone player. Keep making us proud! See ya soon!
ReplyDeleteMan it's hard to believe you are a grandpaw, albeit you look like one. TeeHee!!! Just kidding, hope all is well and you are doing well. It's good that you are now in a place where you can use all of your skills and also benefit from professionals on a daily basis. On the Note we used to get a two reh with our guest artist, didn't matter if it was Micheal Brecker , Bobby Shew, or JJ Johnson etc and then go play the gig. I love the no reh stuff, it seperates the men from the boys. Anyway, all the best,
